Snapdragon 821: 10% faster than Snapdragon 820

Qualcomm has revealed the Snapdragon 821, a mobile processor that's around 10 percent faster than its current performance champ, the Snapdragon 820. However, it's not a replacement for that chip, which is used in high-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10 and Sony Xperia X Performance. Rather, "the 821 is designed to complement and extend the competitive strengths" of its current tech, Qualcomm says. In other words, it'll function as an interim chip for high-end devices until the next-gen processor comes along.

To achieve the higher speeds, Qualcomm says it bumped the clock rates of the 14-nanometer chip from 2.1 to 2.4 GHz. Otherwise, it's borrowing the Snapdragon 820's tech, including the 600 Mbps X12 LTE modem, Ultra HD Voice tech for improved call quality, and Upload+ for faster downloads. At the same time, it'll deliver greater speeds, battery life and app performance.

Pokémon GO, which is yet to launch globally, has crossed all records

Pokémon GO, which is yet to launch globally, has crossed all records when it comes to daily engagement and app installs. Pokémon GO might be days old, but the app is already beating established players like Twitter, Tinder, according to data from SimilarWeb.

The app has only been launched in Australia, US, and New Zealand, but the world is playing this game thanks to APK files and side installs.

A blogpost by SimilarWeb shows Pokémon GO is already installed on 5.16 per cent of all Android devices in the US, and has crossed Tinder when it comes to install base on Android.

"Pokémon GO is killing it" on Daily Active Users (DAUs) with 60 per cent of those who downloaded the game using it daily. Data shows the app is close to Twitter on DAUs, and the analytics website predicts Pokémon GO will cross Twitter’s DAUs in some days, which shows the power of this game.

Nexus 6P case: Will nearly triple the battery life of your phone

ZeroLemon is preparing to release a battery case for the Nexus 6P that it says will nearly triple the battery life of your phone. The Nexus 6P Battery Case (why even bother with a ridiculous name) comes with an 8,500 mAh battery that ZeroLemon says will provide an extra 190 percent of battery for your smartphone.

The Nexus 6P is already a large phone, and it's safe to say this case will make it ginormous. It's big and bulky and may not even fit in your pocket. But it will let you access all of your ports with standard plugs, you can charge the case and your phone simultaneously, and it comes with a battery level indicator and a power button on the rear.

Back in October when we reviewed the Nexus 6P, we found that the phone's 3,450 mAh battery could get through a day under normal usage, so theoretically ZeroLemon's case could keep your 6P running for up to three days, if it lives up to the claims. The ZeroLemon Nexus 6P Battery Case will be available on Amazon on July 15th for a "special introductory price" of $60, according to the company.

Prisma: The iOS app will turn your photos into paintings

Apple iOS users take note: Prisma, is a new app, which will make your Instagram filters passé. Prisma lets you convert your pictures into works of art, following the styles of Van Gogh, Picasso, Levitan, according to the company’s website.

Prisma relies on neural networks and artificial intelligence in order to turn your photos into art, and the iOS-only app has taken the Internet by storm. For iOS users, this is the hot new trend that has gone viral and needs to be tried out.
The app’s concept is pretty simple: You upload a picture from the Camera roll or take one, then just tap next and start choosing the filter that appeals most to you. The filters have names like Impression, Curtain, Running in the storm, Mondrian, etc and you can choose to define the intensity of a filter that you apply.

What if you could control a computer screen with just your eyes?

Well that’s the vision of Eyefluence, a Silicon Valley-based startup that is working on technology for hands-free navigation.

The team has been working on prototypes, testing it out with augmented reality glasses equipped with cameras that can assess where you’re looking at any given time. Users can click on icons with a glance.

The super secretive team gave us an early look at their technology, demonstrating in the above video how it could be used for everything from online shopping to texting. (They call it eye-messages, ha).

The technology “moves as fast as you can think,” said Jim Marggraff, founder and CEO. He said that unlike some of the other eye-tracking technology, Eyefluence works “without winking and without waiting.”

It is their emphasis on biomechanics which they think will set them apart. Eyefluence claims they have the first user interface based on the “eye-brain connection.”

Phones That Wrap Around Wrist to Hit Shelves by 2020

The Lenovo CPlus is a bendable smartphone prototype that can wrap itself around your wrist. ©Lenovo
The first bendable smartphones, capable of rolling up around the owner's wrist, could be on the market in five years' time, the Co-President of Lenovo's Mobile Business Group, Aymar de Lencquesaing, said in a recent interview with CNBC. The news comes after the firm demoed a flexible prototype mobile at Lenovo Tech World in June 2016.
At the Lenovo Tech World event in June 2016, the Chinese manufacturer presented two prototype handsets with varying degrees of flexibility. The Lenovo Folio takes the form of an 8-inch tablet that can be folded in two, whereas the Lenovo CPlus is an otherwise regular-looking 4.26-inch smartphone that can be rolled around the owner's wrist like an oversized bangle. Both devices run Google's Android OS.

Note that Lenovo already got the tech world talking this year by bringing Tango augmented reality technology, developed by Google, to its PHAB 2 Pro phablet, scheduled for release in September 2016.
Lenovo isn't the only manufacturer working on projects of the kind, however. South Korean manufacturer Samsung is in the process of developing a smartphone concept with a screen that folds in half, codenamed Project Valley. This original device could initially be sold in Asian markets.

5.5 inches, 1080 x 1920 px display

The new Moto G4 Plus instills several improvements over the last generation model and is more in line with current market trends. Motorola offers a new octa-core chipset, a larger 5.5 inch display, a fingerprint sensor and a 16MP camera sensor. It is still thick, but clever design and flatter back prevents it from looking chunky. Key highlight of Moto G3, i.e. water resistant body, hasn't been passed on to G4 variants. The Moto G4 Plus is however splash proof.

The 5.5 inch full HD display is sharp and the Snapdragon 617 octa-core chips seems to be a good performer. The 3GB RAM variant is the one which makes more sense. The primary highlight of the Moto G4 Plus is its primary camera which did well in our initial low light testing. The selfie camera looks quite decent as well.

The 3000 mAh battery supports turbo charging. Unlike Moto G4, The G4 Plus will also include turbo charger within the box. Other features include 4G LTE, Dual SIM connectivity, Mono front facing speaker, and latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software (Motorola is good with Android version updates as well).

You can buy Moto G4 Plus online in India from Amazon.in. The 2GB RAM, 16GB storage model costs 13,999 INR, while the 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM variant costs 14,999 INR.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a substantial upgrade to Xiaomi's ' Redmi Note' series which until today included great value for money phablets, but with simple sober exterior design. The Redmi Note 3, however, is clad in metal and is the first Xiaomi device with a fingerprint sensor, which is one the fastest in this class.
